MENULIS BLOG LEWAT IPAD
Hai!
Salam!

iMovie Training, Why Not?
When using iMovie, we need to carefully see the project that we want to create. After choosing new project, then we will need to choose whether we want to make our movie in standard or large size. I recommend the standard size (4:3).
iMovie has a lot of features that can make us produce "almost" professional movie. It has green and blue screen features, picture in picture, split pictures and many more. What i love is sound ducking. You can choose your background song that sometime can be louder or even softer. Here, I will not put the movie sample as but surely will give you the picture (that has been edited using iPhoto). Oh, and I will give you the song that I created using my iPad :) cool, isn't it?

Selamat menikmati!

Hugo

LATEST WORKSHOP: PYP EXHIBITION: A COLLABORATION IN 21ST CENTURY
I need to update this post since I keep thinking on copyright issue. Therefore, I stop link sharing to the presentation in prezi.
I will give you some screen shots from the presentation itself.
In November 24th, 2012, I conducted a workshop about PYP Exhibition for IB Dunia Conference at Sekolah Pelita Harapan Lippo Village. With the help of some teachers - Shanti, Roy and Mega -, I prepared the materials. Started from my idea on why not sharing with others working on the same thing: Primary Years Program Exhibition?
Why were there many teachers involved? It's because Shanti and Mega are the Year 6 teachers, while Roy is our ICT integrator. More over, they had done such a wonderful jobs integrating technology within the exhibition. PYP Exhibition itself is a culmination of all years students have walked upon their PYP journey.
Here are some pictures from our presentation. Thanks!
cheers,
Hugo

GOOGLE SKETCHUP AND STUDENTS ACTION
One program out of many programs that really suits the 21st century teaching and learning is Google Sketchup. Not only teaching the students about shapes and maths application but also giving direction on how the students can take action by designing useful invention for their surroundings.
Therefore, in relation with the technology unit, my year six students work individually in "designing" a useful technology. Surprisingly, they made things to help Jakarta as the Indonesia capital city. They dreamed to have some useful items such as "pollution house", "anti flood dam", "anti traffic", and many more. Surely, their designs were not the most detail ones as they were the experts. The way they responded on terrible things their city faces was one prove from many that the students had hearts to share with other citizens.
Some of them came to me and asked what I am making on my computer. I told them that I wanted to have a dam that able to avoid us from the flood as well as a water purifying dam. This kind of answered had triggered them to work on their design. Google sketchup really made them like experts. Here are some screen shots. Enjoy them!

SHIFTING PORTFOLIO TO e-PORTFOLIO
To be honest, what happen to your kid portfolio after been taken home? There are some possibilities. You might make a special cupboard to put all your kid stuffs. In contrary, you might not make any special place. The portfolio will go anywhere within his or her bedroom. One day, you will see the portfolios have been becoming a problem because there are no more space within the bedroom or worse, they look like rubbish. No other way then to make them disappear.
Shifting portfolio to e-portfolio has been a real need in this 21st century learning. Recording the students achievement using audio, video, photographs, blogs will be great evidences for parents. Another important thing is how e-portfolio is accessible at anytime, anywhere and for anyone (as long as they have username and password - it s strongly suggested that e-portfolio with website based must be password protected).
If you wish your school using e-portfolio, you may apply within your school websites (you need to make sure that your school server is big enough and has static IP) or having free websites such as google docs, moodle, or weebly. Parents need to be informed clearly on the use of e-portfolio.
This e-Portfolio will be staying in website and also burned into CD. After copied into CD, you can make any number of copies as you wish.Yes, you will not be able to touch the real thing, however, you have the evidence and memory of what your kid have done in their learning process. Therefore, we make a step a head to digital form in the making of portfolio. Let's shift our mind into the 21st century reality!
