MOMMY GOES TO SCHOOL

Grade 1 TMIS,

"It must be nice to see our parents coming to school everyday". That idea comes from one of grade 1 students at TMIS. Well, I agree with that student.

Last week, Ibu Juliana, one of parents in grade 1 came to the classroom. She was invited by the grade 1 teacher, Ms. Puspa. The aim of her presence is to share her story about her daughter's activities from the morning until night.

She brought some pictures, books and other stuffs. She was really kind to tell her daughter's activities. There were many questions from students. Ibu Juliana was really happy to see how active and attentive the students were. Some of grade 1 students even asked when their mommies could come and shared stories. Soon!

MEASURING OURSELVES

Grade 4 TMIS

"What is happening in front of teachers' room?". I went outside my room. I was wondering myself when I saw Ms. Tashya, grade 4 teacher, used tape measure to her students. 

I stood next to the crowd. Listening to their conversation was all I could do. 

Aha! after several minutes listening to their discussion, I started to understand. 

Grade 4 learned how to use tape measure. They measure the length of their body parts. "That tells me" I talked to myself. It was interesting to see they did the activity outside their classroom as the could refer their findings by looking at the soft-board outside their classroom where they put their display about skeleton. All right boys and girls..carry on!

MEMBANGUN SEKOLAH BERKARAKTER

Sudah banyak teacher gathering yang diadakan, namun yang satu ini lain daripada yang lain. Teacher gathering yang bagiamana, sih? Saya akan tulis secara singkat teacher gathering yang satu ini.

Hari Sabtu yang cerah tanggal 14 Agustus, di salah satu meeting hall hotel Menara Peninsula, para guru seluruh Jabodetabek berkumpul. Acara yang disponsori oleh PT Datascrip ini memang didedikasikan untuk para guru. Sebagai pembicara, seorang praktisi yang berkecimpung dalam pengembangan karakter anak yaitu Ibu Supra Wimbarti, Msc., P.Hd.

Acara teacher gathering yang diberi tajuk "Membentuk Sekolah Berkarakter" ini terbilang sangat sukses menarik animo guru. Dalam acara ini, guru diajak untuk bertukar pikiran, dan berbagi pengalaman mereka. Harus diakui dalam mencapai tajuk yang dibicarakan, haruslah para ujung tombak yang ikut bicara. Ibu Supra begitu tenang mengalir memandu para peserta untuk menggali lebih dalam tentang apa itu sekolah yang berkarakter dan bagaimana mencapainya. Tak diragukan lagi, beliau memang menguasai konsep-konsep yang harus dicapai sebuah sekolah untuk menjadi sekolah yang berkarakter.

Acara yang berlangsung dari pukul 09.00 tepat dan berakhir pada pukul 15.00 tepat ini dipandu oleh MC Franky. MC ini cukup heboh dan terlihat mempunyai ketertarikan pada dunia pendidikan. Oleh karenanya, acara terpandu olehnya dengan baik. Salah satu pihak yang tak mungkin tak tersebut adalah event organizer acara ini yaitu Goodwill EO. Even sebesar ini terjalin rapi dan kontak yang terjalin begitu kuat, ketepatan waktu begitu terjaga. 

Semoga akan ada acara lanjutan dari acara yang bermanfaat ini. Salam!
