PYP WORKSHOP LEADER

Thursday morning, September 6th 2012. Day One.
Bilingual PYP & MYP Workshop Leader Refresher Course, Bali International School.

That morning, I found myself restless in one of the rooms at Bali International School. I couldn't lie to myself that it was not easy to adjust myself among the existing PYP/MYPWorkshop Leaders. Though I knew already most of them, still, it was not that easy.

Getting to know each other was the first thing to chill me out of my clumsy atmosphere. Helen and Ashish made a very smooth transition for a rookie like me. The other participants really got everything naturally. The first hour, I felt home.

The first thing that I got in mind was to ask myself humbly to open my horizon in chewing all the information. One by one, bit by bit, the information was transferred to my mind through my ears and eyes that were busy digesting auditory and visually. The role of workshop leader, the connection and the tension happened in a workshop, workshop strategies and many more were digested. Of course, I still needed to make some confirmation to other existing workshop leaders on the instructions given.

The more I know, the more that I don't know was the sentence that I always mentioned whenever I got stuck on ideas to be written. That happened when instructions given from both workshop leaders. Personally, I was in the position of seeking answers for the best practice in learning as workshop leader. Therefore, I didn't hold myself to bother others to guide me. I was lucky that both workshop leaders, Helen and Ashish always put me in the situation where other experienced PYP workshop leaders worked closely with me. For me, their strategy really worked for me. Even better, as I am a type of person that easily learning things through discussion rather than reading books.

Day one ended. Exhausted. More reading, more discussions. One step had been made. Moving forward to day 2 and 3.

blessing,

H
